Uses

Empagliflozin/ Xenglu-met is used to improve blood and sugar levels while exercising, with adults who are on Type 2 diabetes mellites. This medicine is advised to be taken with diet and exercise. Empagliflozin is used to reduce the risk of death from stroke, heart attack, or heart failure in patients who have type 2 diabetes and are also diagnosed with the disease.

The empagliflozin is also used in the treatment of type 1 diabetes.

Dosage

Read the leaflet provided by your pharmacist or comes with medicine before you start taking this medicine. Take this medication by mouth with or without food, as your doctor recommends. The general recommendation is once tablet in the morning.

Take this medicine, once a day, in the morning, with or without a meal, or based on your doctor’s recommendation.

The dosage, duration of treatment, and length of treatment depend on the patient’s condition and doctor’s recommendation.

For maximum benefit and speedy recovery use this medicine regularly. And to remember the dose, take this medication on regular basis around the same time.

Don’t use this medicine, if you have any disease in the kidney or if you are on dialysis.

Precautions

• Tell your doctor if you have any medical history related to, kidney and liver disease, bladder infections, low blood pressure, heart problems, low B.P, problems with your pancreas, including surgery.

• While on this medication, you might experience, blurred vision, drowsiness, dizziness, low and high blood pressure. So, make sure you don’t use or drive any machinery or perform any activities that require clear vision and alertness.

• Use this medicine with caution, in hepatic impairment and heart failure patients.

• If you are pregnant, ask your doctor before using this medicine.

• Don’t use this medicine in patients with diabetic ketoacidosis.
